Role Overview
We are seeking a Barista who can deliver speciality coffee, premium tea and Indian-inspired beverages in a fine-dining context. You’ll own the coffee and non-alcoholic beverage program for the restaurant, working closely with the kitchen and pastry teams to design thoughtful pairings and memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
• Dial in espresso and maintain consistent extraction throughout service.
• Prepare a range of coffee beverages and present them to fine-dining standards.
• Curate and prepare teas and Indian beverages to complement the menu.
• Develop non-alcoholic pairings for tasting menus and dessert courses.
• Maintain barista station cleanliness, equipment care and HACCP-aligned hygiene practices.
• Manage beverage inventory and support menu changes in coordination with management.

Requirements
We are recruiting a Barista for a luxury Indian fine-dining restaurant in Glen Waverley, VIC, part of an international hospitality group. The role goes beyond standard café service—this Barista will curate coffee, tea and Indian-inspired beverages to match a refined dining and tasting-menu experience.
What you’ll be doing:
Dial in espresso daily (dose, yield, time, temperature); calibrate grinders and maintain espresso machines and water filtration systems.
Produce consistent milk texturing and latte art that meet fine-dining presentation standards.
Curate and prepare specialty teas and Indian beverages (e.g. single-estate chai, masala infusions, filter coffee, saffron/cardamom infusions, affogato or kulfi pairings).
Develop signature non-alcoholic pairings for tasting menus in collaboration with the kitchen and pastry teams.
Manage coffee and tea inventory, par levels, rotating bean/leaf selections, and maintain hygiene and allergen controls at the beverage station.
Deliver warm, informed guest interaction: describe origins, flavour notes and preparation methods with confidence.
Skills & Qualifications:
1–2+ years’ experience in specialty coffee or luxury hotel/restaurant service.
Strong espresso proficiency: dosing, grind adjustment, yield, time/temp control and daily dial-in logs.
Confident milk texturing and latte art with an eye for fine-dining level presentation.
Knowledge of specialty coffee origins, processing methods and roast profiles; ability to explain flavour profiles to guests.
Experience with premium tea and Indian beverage service is highly regarded.
Hygiene and allergen awareness; strong equipment care habits (backflushing, cleaning, water filtration).
Inventory and par management skills for coffee/tea/beverage supplies.
Additional requirements:
Strong work ethic, diligence and willingness to learn from international training.
Ability to adopt and maintain SOPs set by the group’s training team.
Impeccable grooming, punctuality and guest-first communication.
Barista certification (e.g. SCA modules) or proven portfolio of work (preferred).
Food Safety/Basic Food Handling certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Valid Australian work rights – this role is non-sponsored currently.
